Overview
We are seeking a Definitive Observation Unit CNA, also referred to DOU Certified Nursing Assistant, Step-Down Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Progressive Care CNA in our Definitive Observation Unit (DOU). This role involves providing direct patient care to individuals who require closer monitoring than on a regular med-surg floor but are not critical enough for the ICU in our DOU.
Shift’s Available: Nights
Employment Type: Full Time
Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00pm to 7:00am

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Take and record frequent vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation
- Assist patients with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, and feeding support
- Turn, reposition, and assist patients with mobility and safe transfers using proper techniques and equipment
- Monitor and document intake and output while observing for and reporting any changes in patient condition
- Support nursing staff in providing high-quality care to patients requiring close observation in a step-down unit
