- Execute day-to-day commercial activities for our European automotive OEM accounts, requiring experience in pricing, forecasting, technical/quality support, sustainability topics, rebate management, supply chain management, and contract negotiation.
- Develop and support the overall Steel Dynamics business and growth strategy with assigned OEMs through managing pricing, RFQs, and marketing.
- Use Steel Dynamics specific product knowledge in coordinating with and supporting the technical business development team as they drive growth by developing new grades and products consistent with the demands of the industry and our customers.
- Build, develop, and maintain trusted relationships within all levels of the automotive OEM customer teams in the U.S, Mexico, and Europe, including relationships at OEM-directed and/or resale supply partners (some requiring Spanish-speaking and writing communication) to ensure sustainable recognition and leverage new business opportunities.
- Build, develop, and maintain transparent and trusted relationships with the Inside Sales, Field Service, and Operations groups within the mills to further optimize communication and decision-making that benefits both our customers and SDI.
- Support the SDI Inside Sales group with system pricing, logistics, and international cross- border (U.S. and Mexico customs) issue resolution, including mediating communication with SDI’s Mexico commercial group and customers’ purchasing and logistics teams.
- Support the SDI field service group on quality and/or transit claim resolutions from the commercial standpoint, including negotiating customer claims side-to-side with the field representatives in the U.S. and Mexico.
- Analyze and develop solutions for activities including pricing, forecasting, technical/quality support, Sustainability topics, rebate management, Supply chain management, and contract negotiation.
- Develop and implement new automotive OEM outside processing solutions for supply chain within US and Mexico, by analyzing each new program’s logistical footprints and required processing.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any), Business Administration, or a related field of study, AND Four (4) Years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained.
Position also requires demonstrated experience in the following:
- Professional fluency in Spanish;
- Automotive OEM account management, preferably with a flat roll steel mill;
- Flat rolled steelmaking and/or processing technical knowledge, particularly in the automotive field and it’s expanded steel specifications and requirements;
- Navigating the Mexico automotive supply chain directly; and
- U.S. – Mexico foreign trade policies and requirements, tracking their continuous changes and preparing for how changes will affect ongoing business with customer OEMs.
