Position Summary
We are hiring for our Ice Crew to assist in the Operation of all New York Islanders games. Ice crew is responsible for the upkeep, installation, and maintenance of the rink. Our Ice crew plays an integral part in all New York Islanders games and makes sure that every game runs smoothly.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $21.00.

About the Venue
UBS Arena at Belmont Park is made for music and built for hockey. New York's newest premier entertainment and sports venue and home of the New York Islanders is developed in partnership with Oak View Group, the New York Islanders, and Jeff Wilpon. The state of the art arena opened in November 2021 and has welcomed numerous top artists including Harry Styles, Sebastian Maniscalco, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, TWICE, Eagles, John Mayer, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone. The venue delivers an unmatched live entertainment experience for guests including clear sightlines and premier acoustics.
UBS Arena is at the forefront of sustainability, being awarded LEED Green Building Certification in January 2023. The venue also achieved carbon neutrality for operations in Fall 2022 which made it the first arena to do so on the eastern United States seaboard.

Responsibilities
- Buffing and Washing rink glass
- Installing Dasher Ads
- Finishing staging players and Penalty Boxes
- Staging Snow coolers for ice repairs as well as plow shovels and snow cans for SnoCrew
- Assisting post-resurface clean-up
- Aid with ice repairs and will be a part of any in-game glass replacement
- Assist with the Post-Game Strike
- Strike all equipment and supplies (tools, snow, plow shovels, puck freezer, etc.) without interfering with ice maintenance
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of ice crew and ice maintenance experience
- Experience working at an Ice Rink, preferable one for professional sports
- Ability to anticipate problems and implement immediate corrective action.
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Must be fast acting and ready to immediately asses and remedy any situation unnatural to the play of the game
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, lift up to 75lbs, reach, pull, push, grasp, and drag.
- Ability to maintain patron, employee, and company confidentiality.
