Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Resident Assistant is responsible for all assigned duties related to the care, well-being and safety of the residents. Responds to residents' needs and provides residents with assistance in daily activities. Assists in orienting and training staff members.
The person in this position is expected to know and support the mission and values of Dominican Oaks, and to apply the Dominican Oaks philosophy while performing daily job tasks.
- Assists residents with transfers and escorts residents.
- Assists residents with bathing, dressing, grooming and monitoring resident hygiene.
- Completes light housekeeping tasks for residents as needed.
- Delivers and picks up resident meal trays as needed.
- Monitors general health conditions of residents and reports changes or problems to supervisor.
- Prepares paperwork for medical appointments
Required
- One (1) year experience as a resident assistant in an assisted living facility in the past 5 years and
- Basic Life Support - CPR
- First Aid - FAC
Preferred
- Six months experience caring for senior population
- Certified Nursing Assistant: CA, upon hire
