The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia, has an opening for an Accountant.
This position will be responsible for managing fixed assets, tracking cash, preparing payroll, administering credit policies, managing customer profiles, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and performing other duties throughout the month and during the month-end close, as identified by the Accounting Supervisor.

Responsibilities
- Establish standard cost, variance analysis, and corresponding journal entries
- Analyze inventory transactions and month-end balances
- Cost analysis
- Operations analysis
- Fixed asset accounting
- Reconciling general and subledger accounts by gathering and balancing information
- Provide operational, sales, and financial reports using both the ERP system and resources from inside the organization
- Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures in addition to complying with federal, state, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
- Work intra-departmentally to help in the analysis of actual results vs. plan
- Special projects and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- At least a 4-year degree in accounting
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- A minimum of two years public accounting experience
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation
- Dedication to minor details and ensuring accuracy of all work products
- Exceptional and proven verbal and written communication skills, with all levels of management
- Experience with ERP or accounting software
