An Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides urgent and essential medical care for patients experiencing acute illnesses or injuries in a high-paced hospital environment. ER RNs are critical frontline healthcare providers who perform rapid assessments, administer treatments, and coordinate care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. An ER Registered Nurse has expertise in emergency care procedures, such as starting IVs, administering medications, wound care, and basic life support. This RN can quickly assess situations, make decisions, and solve problems efficiently in high-pressure environments and remains flexible to manage the unpredictable nature of emergency situations and rapidly changing priorities.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Deliver high-quality care to patients with varying levels of illness and injury.
- Triage and quickly assess situations, make decisions, and solve problems efficiently in high-pressure environments.
- Cooperation with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Aid in resuscitative efforts, including CPR and the use of defibrillators.
- Prepare and maintain equipment for emergency interventions (e.g., intubation, central line placement).
- Assist in patient stabilization for conditions like trauma, cardiac arrest, and acute illnesses.
- Prioritize patient care based on acuity level using triage protocols.

Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire. 6. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 6 months of hire required. 7. Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred. 8. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred. 9. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):
1. In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current. 2. EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire. 3. Non OB facilities: NRP (AHA) certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
