What You'll Be Doing
The HVAC Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining HVAC/R equipment and systems.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Maintain HVAC systems within our healthcare system by servicing and overhauling pneumatic controls, steam valves and other associated equipment, repair bearings and shafts, removing defective equipment, and, installs and tests new equipment
- Perform compressor changeouts
- Apply knowledge/experience with both gas heat, and cooling products from various manufacturers
- Perform basic recordkeeping techniques
- Inspect and operate equipment, air conditioners, heat pumps, refrigerators, freezers, water cooler, etc for proper functioning
- Investigate complaints i.e. climate control, and perform necessary adjustments
- Review and interpret work orders, operating instructions, diagrams, building plans and mechanical equipment drawings
- Perform snow removal detail
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Collaboratively work with others, as well as perform work independently with little direction
- Interact with clients to ensure satisfaction and to request referrals
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 2-4 years in trade, hospital environment preferred
- Active and valid NJ driver's license
- Knowledge of generators is a plus, but not required
- NJ Master HVAC/R License a plus, but not required
- The following NJ Licenses are highly desirable
- NJ Electrical contractor license
- NJ Plumbing license
- NJ Boiler License
- NJ Refrigeration License
- Willingness to travel to all CarePoint facilities in Bayonne, Hoboken, Jersey City, including associated Physician offices
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Understand and follow oral and written directions
- Excellent customer service skills
