Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunication systems, specifically those involving Avaya, Cisco, and Nortel technologies, ensuring seamless communication throughout the hospital. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to emergency situations. This position requires the ability to independently identify and fulfill responsibilities with minimal oversight, especially on critical matters. The role frequently involves exercising discretion and independent judgment, evaluating different options, and making informed decisions. The position is expected to effectively prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Required qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED, an associate degree in telecommunications, electronics, or a related field.
· 3+ years of experience as a Telecom Technician, with specific experience in Avaya or Cisco, or Nortel systems preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment.
· Strong understanding of PBX, VoIP, nurse call systems, paging systems, and structured cabling.
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience working with hospital-specific communication systems such as nurse call and emergency response systems.
· Understands hospital business operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of IT applications in the practicing healthcare environment.
· Open to travel when required.
Preferred qualifications:
· Relevant certifications such as BICSI, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $70,720.00 to $101,920.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
