Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a valued Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) on our team at CHI St. Alexius Health Williston, a member of CommonSpirit Health, you'll play an important role in helping each day run smoothly- for both our patients and our clinical staff.
Every day you will take on a variety of hands-on clinical tasks under the direction of a healthcare provider. This includes preparing patient charts, making sure everything is accurate and up to date. Depending on how many physicians are on-site, you’ll support several patients throughout your day—each one with care and attention.
Your genuine desire to help others, your ability to stay organized, and, most of all, your compassion for every patient who walks through our doors will make you successful in this Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) role.
- Checks schedules and organizes patient flow.
- Accompanies patients to the exam room and updates electronic medical.
- Prepares patients for exams/procedures.
- Assists/performs medication administration, dressings and collecting of lab specimens as instructed. Relays information regarding follow-up care and return visit to patients and families.
- Schedules tests and procedures as directed.
- Obtains lab/x-ray reports, hospital records, referral information as indicated.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- Medical Assisting Diploma, Required.
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program, Required.
Licensure and Certifications
- Candidates must hold one of the following Medical Assistant certifications upon hire:
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- Certified Medical Assistant – AAMA (CMA)
- Certified Medical Assistant – NHA (CMA-NHA)
- National Certified Medical Assistant – NCCT (NCMA)
- National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant – NAHP (NRCMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant – AAH (RMA-AAH)
- Registered Medical Assistant – AMT (RMA)
- Certified Medical Assistant – MMCI (CMA-MMCI)
- AND Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR), Required Upon Hire.
