This schedule demands strong autonomy and adaptability, especially in a 12-hour shift setting common in Bayonne healthcare facilities.
LPNs on 12-hour night shifts require excellent time management, stamina, and proficiency in clinical procedures such as IV medication administration. Familiarity with electronic health records and seamless communication with multidisciplinary teams is critical for patient safety and care continuity during extended night hours.
An active New Jersey LPN license is mandatory for any hospital nursing role in Bayonne. Additionally, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is commonly required. Night shifts can bring heightened patient monitoring needs due to reduced staffing, increased emergency response demands, and managing complex medication schedules. LPNs must be prepared for independent decision-making and effective communication with on-call physicians to ensure safe, continuous patient care.
