In this crucial role, you'll work within your North Dakota scope of practice, collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. You'll ensure patients and families receive the highest quality care, contributing significantly to positive health outcomes.
As a Paramedic, You Will:
- Provide Direct Patient Care:Perform critical procedures including EKG, Accu checks, CPR, wound care, splinting, and various medication administrations (IM, IV, oral, etc.).
- Execute Advanced Skills:Expertise in IV, IO, and EJ insertions.
- Monitor & Document:Conduct re-assessment of patient condition, meticulously document vital signs, assessments, and medications in the EMR.
- Respond & Assist:Be a vital resource during code and trauma activations in the ED and across the hospital campus, offering immediate support.
- Ensure Mobility:Facilitate independent patient transportation to inpatient units as needed.
- Maintain Readiness:Expertly manage oxygen administration, cardiac monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and spinal stabilization.
- Collaborate & Consult:Act as a key resource, consulting with supervising nurses and ED physicians on patient conditions and treatment plans.

Job Requirements
- EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P):Valid certification to function as an EMT-Paramedic in the state of North Dakota.
- Basic Life Support (BLS):Required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies include:
- American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO ('Professional Level - with AED')
- American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
- (BLS Instructor certification also accepted)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS):Required within 6 months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies include:
- American Heart Association: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- American Safety and Health Institute: ACLS
- American College of Surgeons: ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)
- American College of Emergency Physicians: ACLS
- (ACLS Instructor certification also accepted)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS):Required within 6 months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies include:
- American Heart Association: Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- American Safety and Health Institute: PALS
- American Academy of Pediatrics: Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP)
- American Academy of Pediatrics/American College of Emergency Physicians: APLS
- (PALS Instructor certification also accepted)
