The Paramedic provides safe and effective care for patient(s) within the scope of practice, in accordance with physician’s orders, established standards and administrative policies, as part of the health care team. The Hospital Inpatient Paramedic also:
- Functions under the direction of the hospital based Medical Director, who will be the Paramedic Medical Director.
- Follows the Medical Director's determined scope of practice for the Paramedic within the Acts Allowed specified by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
- Be on a health care team that decides the patient care interventions.
- Provides quality of care and service to meet the healthcare needs of patients and their families.
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- Three years of experience as a Paramedic in an Emergency Department and/or emergency pre-hospital setting
- Demonstrated ability to function in a team environment
- Strong communication skills; Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Basic computer skills
- High School diploma or GED required within one year of hire
- Graduation from an accredited Paramedic Training Program, recognized by
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) - Current registered Paramedic with the State of Colorado Department of Public
Health and Environment (CDPHE) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS from the American Heart Association required
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
