Frequently asked questions
Henderson's demand for occupational therapy assistants is steady, boosted by numerous skilled nursing facilities. Beyond the valid occupational therapy assistant state license required in Nevada, familiarity with local healthcare regulations and experience in skilled nursing facilities can elevate your profile. Employers in Henderson, including Reliant Rehabilitation, value compliance with state and federal OT guidelines.
Occupational therapy assistants possess formal licensure and deliver therapy under OT supervision, handling treatment plans and patient case management. In contrast, aides provide supportive tasks without clinical responsibilities, making OT assistants pivotal for patient rehabilitation success.
Career development may include advancing through clinical ladders, obtaining specialized certifications, or transitioning into leadership roles. Programs like Reliant Rehabilitation’s continuing education platform support therapists in enhancing skills and moving into management or advanced clinical positions.
Tasks often involve implementing therapy plans crafted by licensed OTs, documenting patient progress digitally, supervising therapy aides when required, and collaborating with nursing staff to ensure patient safety and compliance with infection control protocols.
Reliant Rehabilitation emphasizes internal promotions, with leadership originating from therapy backgrounds. They provide extensive clinical support, flexible schedules, and benefits like tuition repayment, fostering professional growth and a supportive work culture for occupational therapy assistants.
