Hospice Runner LVN – Full Time
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday OR Tuesday-Saturday 8AM-4:30PM
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our dedicated hospice team as a Hospice Runner. In this important role, you will help ensure that the needs of our hospice patients are addressed promptly and with high-quality care during weekend hours.
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care, including routine assessments and symptom management, in alignment with each patient’s individualized hospice plan of care. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in various settings—including private homes, facilities, and hospitals.
As a Hospice Runner LVN, you will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to support seamless care coordination and transitions as patient needs evolve. You’ll be an essential part of providing comfort and dignity to patients and families at end of life.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to hospice patients, including appropriate pain/symptom management
- Implement nursing practice following a comprehensive assessment and plan of care
- Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient services
- Assess and provide patient and family/caregiver education
- Participate in coordination of hospice services
- Provide appropriate pain/symptom management and evaluate patient response to treatments/medications
- Participate in professional growth and development opportunities and quality assessment activities
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program with current licensure to practice in state of operation
Three years nursing experience. Community health/hospice or medical/surgical experience is
preferred
- Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care
- Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or
organization requirements and is in good working order.
Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
