Frequently asked questions

Staff LPNs in Broken Arrow focus on personalized 1:1 patient care, managing vital signs, medication administration, and maintaining infection control. Unlike RNs, they work under supervision but play a crucial role in daily care routines within community living settings, emphasizing patient dignity and independence.

A successful Staff LPN needs strong observation skills for monitoring vital signs, thorough knowledge of medication protocols, and excellent communication abilities to coordinate with physicians and families. Empathy and patience are vital for fostering trust and promoting patient comfort.

Starting as a Staff LPN at ResCare Community Living provides hands-on experience in diverse patient care, building a foundation for certifications or advanced roles like RN or specialized nursing. The exposure to community living and developmental disabilities broadens skill sets valuable for growth.

Staff LPNs must hold a valid LPN license in Oklahoma, along with current CPR certification. Familiarity with state-specific patient care regulations and infection control standards is highly valued to ensure compliance and quality care delivery.

ResCare Community Living emphasizes continuous training and adherence to individualized care plans. Staff LPNs receive resources for accurate documentation and are encouraged to collaborate with case managers and physicians to tailor patient care effectively.

Working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities requires adaptability, patience, and a deep understanding of individual service plans. Staff LPNs must balance medical care with promoting client independence and dignity, often addressing complex behavioral or cognitive needs.

Broken Arrow shows a steady need for licensed practical nurses due to its growing healthcare facilities and community programs. While competition exists, the specific focus on community living roles like those at ResCare offers niche opportunities less saturated than hospital-based LPN jobs in Tulsa or Oklahoma City.

An hourly rate of $28 is competitive for Staff LPNs in Broken Arrow, reflecting the specialized care in community living and disability services. This rate generally matches or slightly exceeds averages for LPN roles in similar healthcare settings within the region.

Daily duties involve monitoring patient vitals, administering medications, assisting with feeding and oxygen needs, and documenting care thoroughly. Staff LPNs also coordinate with therapists and case managers to ensure holistic support tailored to each client’s plan.

Some moderate travel between ResCare facilities may be required for Staff LPNs to provide consistent care and meet client needs across locations. This flexibility supports comprehensive service delivery within the community living framework.
