Job Summary and Responsibilities
In keeping with the Dignity Health core values, perform diagnostic medical sonographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision to technical detail. Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative.
This position is represented by SEIU UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Job Requirements
- Must have recent (within last 6 months) hands-on scanning experience either as an ultrasound student or as a sonographer
- More than one (1) year of experience in Abdomen or OB/GYN
- Must be a graduate from a CAAHEP accredited Sonography program
- Must be current with continuing education units required by licensing board of the ARDMS
- Current ARDMS certified (RG ARDMS)
- Current AHA CPR certification (CT CPRBLS)
Preferred Requirements:
- Venous Doppler
- Color Doppler
- Neurosonography
- Interventional Procedures
- ARDMS certified in physics and one other area (preferably Abdomen or OB/GYN)
- Active member of a major diagnostic professional society
Special Skills:
- Must be well versed in both general and cross sectional anatomy, as well as physiology.
- Demonstrates knowledge of (must be familiar with) Ultrasound procedures, both diagnostic and interventional.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with patients, staff and physicians.
- Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team oriented environment.
- Self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.
