What You'll Be Doing
MAIN FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the organization and the administration of the nursing services on the Transitional Care Unit and Rehabilitation Services at Bayonne Medical Center. He/she has administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for functions and activities of the nursing, PT, OT, SLP and ancillary staff. The Nurse Manager shall ensure that the total needs of the residents are met and shall keep the Administrator and Medical Director informed of the activities of the nursing services.
WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Exposure to communicable diseases, blood and blood products, illness, confused and/ or combative patients, hazardous chemicals, stressful situations, X-rays, sharp instruments and needles, and electricity.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing, walking, light lifting; pushing carts.
REPORT TO: Vice President, Patient Care Services
CONTACTS: Physicians, Department Heads, Hospital Staff, Patients, Families, and Visitors.
SUPERVISORS: Licensed Nursing Home Administrator
What We're Looking For
Education:Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: 2 years full time experience in nursing supervision/administration. 1-year full time experience in rehabilitation nursing.
Licensure/Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree preferred;
IV Certification as per hospital policy. CPR Certification as per hospital policy. Current license to practice professional nursing in NJ.
