LNA Training Track (Support Aide) – Position Overview
Elderwood at Burlington offers a paid, comprehensive pathway for individuals who wish to become Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs). Whether you have prior experience as a CNA, LNA, HHA, PCA, or are brand new to the field, this program provides hands-on exposure and structured training that leads to certification and permanent placement as an LNA.
Support Aides work alongside our clinical team to assist with basic non-clinical resident care tasks while awaiting entry into the next Nurse Aide Training Program. Once enrolled, participants complete a full three-week paid training program followed by certification testing sponsored by Elderwood.

LNA Training Program Details
Three-week paid course
Weeks 1–2: Classroom instruction
Week 3: Clinical rotation
Training schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (times may vary slightly)
Elderwood pays for:
The state LNA certification exam
Required onboarding items (PPD, Physical, etc.)
While awaiting training, you will work as a Support Aide on an assigned shift
Upon passing, your title and pay will be updated to LNA

Support Aide Responsibilities
Transport or accompany residents to dining, activities, therapy, and other locations as assigned
Make unoccupied beds and prepare resident rooms
Assist in the Dining Room by passing trays, assisting with basic setup, and supporting meal service
Distribute supplemental nourishments to residents who do not require feeding assistance
Lead simple, informal resident activities when time permits
Provide fresh water to resident rooms
Assist with preparing residents for bedtime
Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and unit areas
Clean resident equipment such as wheelchairs, beds, and geri-chairs
Report unusual resident incidents or observations to supervisory staff

Support Aide Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent required
Employment Certificate/Work Permit required for applicants ages 16–17
No findings or convictions related to resident abuse, mistreatment, or property misappropriation
