Frequently asked questions

Post Acute Partners in Burlington offers a paid LNA Training Track designed to help individuals, including those new to healthcare, gain hands-on experience and complete certification. This pathway combines classroom learning with clinical rotations, preparing trainees for a permanent role as Licensed Nursing Assistants in a supportive environment.

Support aides assist with resident transport, meal support, room preparation, and light activities. They maintain cleanliness of equipment and resident areas while gaining practical exposure, all critical for building foundational skills prior to formal LNA certification in a Burlington healthcare setting.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess no history of resident abuse or property misappropriation. Proficiency in English is important to ensure clear communication with residents and staff throughout the training and support process.

This program uniquely offers a three-week paid course combining classroom instruction and clinical practice, with all certification exam fees covered. It also provides a gas stipend, weekly pay, and a clear path to permanent LNA placement, distinguishing it from many unpaid or less comprehensive local training options.

Burlington's demand for nursing assistants and support aides remains strong due to an aging population and healthcare expansion. Entry-level candidates with paid training opportunities, like those at Elderwood, often have an advantage, though competition can increase during peak hiring seasons.

Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with employer match, medical, dental, vision insurance, tuition assistance for clinical advancement, free uniforms, and employee rewards. These perks enhance both financial stability and professional growth within the Burlington healthcare community.

The position offers $19.20 per hour, which is competitive compared to other entry-level nursing assistant roles in Burlington. This rate reflects the paid training component and additional benefits, aligning with the region's healthcare compensation standards.

Completion of Elderwood’s LNA program opens doors to permanent nursing assistant roles with potential advancement to licensed practical nurse or registered nurse positions. The tuition assistance and clinical experience gained locally support ongoing education and upward mobility in Vermont's healthcare system.

Trainees receive a structured schedule with paid shifts as support aides, a gas allowance for part-time/full-time staff, and access to a tuition reimbursement program. This holistic approach helps individuals manage financial and educational commitments while gaining valuable clinical experience.

Elderwood fosters a culture rooted in respect, integrity, and collaboration, ensuring trainees feel valued and supported. This environment encourages learning and accountability, which enhances the overall training experience and promotes quality resident care in a community-focused setting.
