Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of restorative and preventive procedures.
- Perform EFDA duties, including placing and contouring restorations, applying sealants and fluoride, and taking impressions, all under the direct supervision of the dentist.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to strict infection control and OSHA guidelines.
- Ensure patient comfort and alleviate anxiety by effectively communicating with patients throughout the appointment.
- Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques in a fun and engaging way.
- Accurately record and update patient charts and medical records using our dental software.
- Manage dental supply inventory and help keep the clinic running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Radiology certification.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Proven experience working in a pediatric dental setting is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children of all ages.
- Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive, high-energy attitude and a strong work ethic.
Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
