Position Summary
The Banquet Bartender is responsible for the set-up, execution, and breakdown of all banquet and catering events, while ensuring clear communication with guests and the culinary team. Bartenders are responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Bartenders are expected to stay composed and flexible in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong initiative and teamwork to ensure event success.
This role will pay an hourly wage ranging from $15 to $17 plus tips.

About the Venue
The Palm Beach County Convention Center is a multi-purpose facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, managed by the Oak View Group. The Center features a 100,000 square-foot exhibit hall, a 22,000 square-foot ballroom and 21,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, as well as connecting to the 400-room Hilton West Palm Beach.
Responsibilities
- Must demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellent in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers and uniform standards.
- Follow the bar pre-shift notes, checklists, and bar menus in order to provide service as described per event.
- Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for safe serving standards including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol.
- Responsible to learn or have knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available, and be able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests.
- Must pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
- Must check guest’s ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
- Must communicate a cut-off to a guest as required.
- Listening and responding to any customer requests or concerns.
- Bartenders are expected to de-escalate intoxicated guest situations. If a guest becomes confrontational, belligerent, or uses extreme profanity, the bartender may contact management or security as required.
- Contact a management member if he/she is unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision-making.
- Request additional product or restock product as required
- Maintains clean and sanitary work station at all times. Ensures bar equipment is clean & well maintained.
- Other duties as assigned such as set-up and breakdown of bar equipment as required and assisting with organization of the cooler
Qualifications
- Six months or more experience bartending is required.
- Bartending school preferred.
- Ability to work weekdays and weekends, with availability for some morning, noon, and evening shifts on an on-call/event-based schedule.
- Must provide regular and consistent written availability to management.
- High School Diploma, G.E.D., or related food service experience required.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Must obtain and maintain either a ServeSafe Alcohol or eTIPS Certification, and other required compliance trainings.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact with employees, management, and guests in a professional and respectful manner.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, such as boxes and equipment.
