Overview
We are seeking a Renal Charge Registered Nurse (Nights), sometimes referred to as a Charge RN or a Charge Med Surge RN at Riverview Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare in Gadsden, AL. These Registered Nurses (RN) play an important role in our hospital by providing comprehensive care to renal patients who are recovering from surgery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Med-surg nurses are considered the backbone of hospital nursing due to the variety and volume of patients they manage.
Bonus Options: up to $15,000 (Two payout options available)
Shift’s Available: Nights ($4 to $8 differential in pay)

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health
- monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions
- recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, such as changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental status
- safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions
- act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure the patient's needs are met
- provide patient education on their condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.
- communicate effectively with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans

Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS 30 days upon of hire and maintain current
- PALS within 30 days of hire for units that admit pediatric patients
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred
