This is a mid-level design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Electrical Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement.
- Support electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team
- Responsible for production of engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings and engineering reports
- Apply electrical engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components
- Produce Procurement Specifications and Construction Specifications (electrical sections)
- Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs
- Mentor junior engineers
Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
Essential skills and experience:
- Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
- BSEE degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; MSEE preferred
- 5+ years of progressive responsible experience in electrical engineering in a nuclear environment (DOE preferred, commercial, or Navy)
- Experience with producing engineering designs for low to medium voltage electrical distribution systems and instrumentation wiring; experience with more than one type of system a plus
- Experience with NEC, UL508, codes and IES Lighting Handbook
- Proficiency in load flow and/or arc flash analysis software such as ETAP and/or SKM Power Tools
- Proficiency in lighting analysis software such as Virtual and AGI32
Valued but not required skills and experience:
- PE license
- DOE experience preferred; commercial or Navy
- Field engineering and construction experience
