The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
Function/Duties of Position
The duties of this position revolve around teaching, research, and clinical activities. The teaching duties of the position involve participating in the education and training of medical and nursing students, house staff, and the regional medical community along with regular attendance in Educational Curriculum. A component of the position involves establishing and maintaining scholarly research activity directed toward the improved understanding of the causes, detection, and treatment of diseases. The clinical component of the position involves providing clinical care to patients at the University Hospitals and Clinics, as well as affiliated hospitals and clinics, and engaging in public service through consultative activities in the appointee’s specialty with non-University groups. This position will be primarily practicing Hillsboro Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certification
- Current Oregon Board of Medical Examiners License
- Receipt of medical staff privileges at OHSU and HMC
Knowledge and Skills: Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize; ability to be a self-starter and organized; ability to work as a team member and also independently; must possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude; possess excellent communication skills (verbal, written and active listening); and be flexible to work all day as necessary for patient demand Monday through Friday with some weekends during assigned call shifts.
