We value our incredible Certified Nursing Assistants and want to ensure they practice at the top of their license to better optimize their skills and experience. We’ve also developed a career path framework for CNAs that clarifies paths to move, develop and advance CNA careers into nursing and other roles. The Certified Nursing Assistants provides direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a RN and in accordance with policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- Six months previous CNA experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Basic computer skills
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- High School diploma or GED required
- Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program required
- State registered CNA license required
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training preferred. CPI training required if sitting with M-1 holds
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Where You'll WorkAmbulatory Care at Penrose Home Health services a 60-mile radius from our office here in Colorado Springs. Our interdisciplinary team includes skilled nursing, physical/occupational/speech therapy, social work and CNAs. We care for a diverse population of patients, aged 18 and above and deliver skilled care in the patient's home environment. Skilled nursing addresses a wide variety of patient education such as medications and disease processes, as well as direct skills including wound care, ostomy teaching and IV/PICC infusion. We strive to deliver exceptional care and educate patients on how to manage their health conditions at home. Being a part of Penrose-St. Francis allows our clinicians to take advantage of growth opportunities within the system and access to the amazing benefits. The flexibility in home health is second to none. Our clinicians self-schedule their caseload, working around their own and the patient's schedule. Our team is very close-knit and has excellent clinical nursing skills with critical thinking that allows us to practice with autonomy.
