Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Pharmacy Technician II at Dignity Health, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, playing an essential role in providing safe and efficient medication services. You will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist with the daily operations of the pharmacy.
You will collaborate closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the right medications in a timely manner. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to patient safety will be crucial in this role
- Fills physician orders, medication kits, medication carts, or stock requisitions accurately
- Prepares intravenous admixtures, parenteral nutrition products and other sterile products accurately, utilizing approved sterile technique in accordance with USP standards
- Replenishes medications in emergency crash carts accurately
- Delivers medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas accurately per established schedule utilizing approved technological devices to verify accuracy of processes
Minimum
High school diploma or GED
6 months compounding of IV medication
Ability to demonstrate competency in the preparation of intravenous and other sterile products
Licensed by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician
Preferred
Two years acute care pharmacy technician experience
