Position Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of skilled work in the mechanical maintenance and repair of Tanger Center buildings, facilities and fixtures. This position performs a full range of duties assigned including the more complex repair of electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment. Occasional instruction or assistance is needed as new or unusual situations arise.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $18.00 to $23.00.

About the Venue
Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art facility with a seating capacity of approximately 3,000. The venue is located in downtown Greensboro at 300 N. Elm Street. A $94M, state-of-the-art facility that has transformed downtown Greensboro NC, the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts venue is home to touring Broadway productions, concerts, Greensboro Symphony Orchestra performances, comedy shows and all types of family entertainment. The Tanger Center is celebrating its 5-year Anniversary and has hosted hundreds of thousands of patrons, thousands of events and performances. Presented with partners Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management (PFM), the First Bank Broadway Series is one of the nation’s top-selling one-week Broadway series with over 16,000 Season Seat Members.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Tanger Center facilities and buildings including carpentry, masonry, electrical, welding, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and mechanical work.
- Install electrical power, internet and a variety of other needs as requested during show setup and event.
- Install, adjust, repair, and inspect heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment including forced air furnaces, boilers, water pumps, chillers, air conditioning units, exhaust fans, air filters, compressors, cooling towers and heat exchangers.
- Install, repair, and replace electrical lighting systems, plumbing fixtures including sinks, faucets and pipes, light bulbs, ballasts and lights; clear any obstructions from water and sewer lines.
- Operate, maintain and repair a variety of mechanical tools and equipment. Read and interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 2-4 years of work experience in building maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural and general carpentry).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, twist, climb a ladder and walk the entire shift.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
