We value our incredible Certified Nursing Assistants and want to ensure they practice at the top of their license to better optimize their skills and experience. We’ve also developed a career path framework for CNAs that clarifies paths to move, develop and advance CNA careers into nursing and other roles. The Certified Nursing Assistants provides direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a RN and in accordance with policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- Six months previous CNA experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Basic computer skills
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- High School diploma or GED required
- Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program required
- State registered CNA license required
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training preferred. CPI training required if sitting with M-1 holds
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

The 5 West Medical Surgical Department at St. Anthony North Hospital, an achieved Magnet® Hospital, is a dynamic 30-bed unit that cares for a diverse population of medical-surgical, cardiac, and neurological patients. Common diagnoses include chronic disease exacerbations such as diabetes, heart failure, and COPD, acute conditions like infections and gastrointestinal disorders, and pre-and post-operative care for orthopedic, abdominal, and general surgeries.
5 West appeals to anyone interested in broadening their skillset as we receive overflow from anywhere in the hospital, provided they meet unit criteria.
