Frequently asked questions

Inpatient Physical Therapists in Englewood focus on acute care, often treating patients recovering from surgery or severe injuries within hospital settings. This environment demands rapid assessment and multidisciplinary coordination, differing from outpatient roles that typically manage longer-term rehabilitation in clinics or private practices.

Beyond the state physical therapist license, hospitals in Colorado often prefer therapists with CPR certification and specialized credentials such as neuro or orthopedic certifications. These qualifications enhance your ability to handle complex inpatient cases and align with regional healthcare standards.

Inpatient Physical Therapists manage patients requiring intensive, often immediate rehabilitation within hospitals. They must navigate regulatory compliance, document treatments meticulously, and collaborate closely with medical teams to optimize recovery, a contrast to outpatient therapists who see patients in scheduled visits.

Select Medical Corporation's inpatient therapists often balance high patient acuity with administrative duties, including compliance training and interprofessional communication. Their environment supports growth through mentorship and CEU programs, but the fast-paced hospital setting can require strong adaptability.

The company offers extensive professional development via paid national certifications, mentorship, and opportunities to specialize in fields like sports medicine or neuro rehab. Additionally, internal mobility across 1900 centers nationwide encourages ongoing career progression within inpatient and outpatient settings.

Englewood's inpatient physical therapy salaries generally range from $70,000 to $85,000 annually depending on experience and facility. The $74,000 starting salary offered aligns competitively with local market standards, especially when factoring in benefits like student debt assistance and comprehensive healthcare coverage.

Englewood's demand for inpatient physical therapists is robust due to its growing hospital network. Select Medical Corporation attracts many applicants by offering strong benefits and career development, making positions moderately competitive but attainable for licensed therapists with relevant clinical experience.

Daily routines involve evaluating patients post-surgery or trauma, developing tailored treatment plans, documenting progress, and coordinating with physicians and nursing staff. The setting requires agility to handle fluctuating caseloads and adherence to strict clinical protocols common in hospital inpatient care.

Key skills include strong clinical assessment abilities, effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, meticulous documentation, and knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations. Adaptability and empathy are crucial to managing diverse patient needs and navigating the hospital’s dynamic environment.
