Yes, Shriners Children’s encourages occupational therapists to engage in research aligned with clinical practice improvements. This allows therapists to influence pediatric rehabilitation advancements, contribute to scholarly work, and stay at the forefront of therapeutic innovation.

Philadelphia’s diverse population demands cultural sensitivity and adaptable care strategies from OTs. The city’s healthcare infrastructure supports interdisciplinary collaboration, but therapists must also navigate urban commute challenges and varying patient socioeconomic backgrounds.

To practice as an occupational therapist in Pennsylvania, a bachelor’s or master’s in OT is required along with state licensure and current BLS certification. Experience with pediatric populations is advantageous, especially for roles in specialized facilities like Shriners Children’s.
