Overview
We are seeking a Progressive Care RN or PCU RN, internally referred to as our Progressive Care Registered Nurse. In the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), the PCU RN or Step-Down RN will provide specialized care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical conditions who require close monitoring, intervention, and support to optimize their outcomes and facilitate their transition to lower levels of care.

Responsibilities
** If you have experience in Acute Care, such has Rehab, ICU, Critical Care Unit (CCU), PCU, Step-Down, Emergency Room (ER) or other critical care areas as an RN, you are encouraged to apply!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Conduct assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, respiratory status, and overall clinical stability, you will need to monitor changes in patients' conditions and respond promptly to any deterioration
- Utilize telemetry and other monitoring devices to continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure, and other parameters you must be able to recognize and interpret abnormalities in monitoring data
- Administer medications as directed by physicians, encompassing intravenous medications, antibiotics, pain management medications, and cardiac medications, while vigilantly monitoring patients for any adverse reactions or side effects
- Perform nursing interventions and treatments as ordered by physicians, such as wound care, catheter care, suctioning, and administration of oxygen therapy, which may include assisting with procedures
- Adhere to evidence-based practice guidelines, hospital policies, and protocols related to patient care, infection control, and safety
Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred
- Completion of Critical Care Course preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
