Job Summary and Responsibilities
The utility person shall be responsible to keep clean and maintain the orderliness of the mechanical rooms and other areas used by the maintenance department. Also his/her responsibilities include assisting the maintenance engineers and the stockroom clerk in the performance of their tasks. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
- Cleans and maintains orderliness of mechanical rooms.
- Assists journey level engineers (i.e., follows instructions, works well with others.)
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationship with supervisor, co-workers and other Medical Center personnel.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Assists in maintenance of storeroom and parts inventory.
- Uses the following equipment in accordance with manufacturer's operating instructions. Including, but not limited to: Hand ToolsFork LiftShop TruckDemonstrates the ability to safely and competently use equipment in the provision of department services.
- Assures equipment is in operating order prior to use.
- Meters i.e. Volt/ohm, etc.
- Refrigeration Equipment
Required
- High School Graduate or High School GED
- Must have a general knowledge and ability to perform work in, but not limited to any of the following: Stores, Inventory, Material Handling and Control, Tools and Equipment Control.
- Must perform otherassigned duties.
