Job Overview
Shriners Children's has an opportunity for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. The position is day shift, Monday - Friday.
The pay range for this position is $19.69 hourly to $26.78 hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and department equity.
Responsibilities
Under the leadership of the Outpatient Department Manager and the indirect supervision of Physicians/APPs, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) assists with the delivery of patient care in the clinic by maintaining clinic flow, obtains routine clinical information on patients/family, provides physical care of the patients, procures and maintains par levels of clinic supplies, and provides light clerical assistance.
Additional Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) tasks include:
- Transcribing of delegated orders into the EMR
- Casting/splint application, maintenance guidance and removal
- Obtaining specimens, including performing venipuncture
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - by Certification by the American Association for Medical Assistants
- Three years' experience as a Medical Assistant
- National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technology required in 12 months
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician within 12 months
Preferred:
- Associate's degree
- Two years' pediatric care experience
