Responsibilities
Ensures the safety and security of patients, employees, visitors, and physicians within the boundaries of Legacy Health.
Provides assistance to customers, patients, and staff as an informational and support resource.
Safeguards all Legacy Health property, including buildings, equipment, and other physical assets.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum two years prior Corrections, Military, First Responder (law enforcement, fire services, EMS), Behavioral Health/ER technician, or related Security experience; or, one year of Legacy Health Associate Security Officer experience.
Minimum two years experience with heavy public contact and an emphasis on customer service.
Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to use computer programs and write legible and grammatically correct reports.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and remain aware of current surroundings.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
Licensure
- Current valid applicable state driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurance carrier requirements.
- Healthcare Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association required within 14 days of placement.
- Successful completion of Legacy’s approved de-escalation training certification within 120 days of the first day of placement within the department and then recertification as defined by the course.
- Successful completion of Legacy Health’s Safety and Security’s physical control program.
- DPSST (Department of Public Safety Standards and Training) unarmed professional temporary certification (PS 20) or current DPSST unarmed professional certification required within 14 days of placement. The DPSST unarmed professional certification must be obtained within 120 days of the first day of placement in the department.
Pay Range
