We are seeking an experienced Admission Coordinator I to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infusion therapy intake, excellent communication skills, and the ability to serve as a resource for both internal teams and referral sources. This role involves managing the full admission process, coordinating services, and supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties of Admission Coordinator I with added responsibilities.
- Serve as a resource for infusion therapy, enteral therapy, durable medical equipment, and associated services.
- Initiate and coordinate patient admissions, ensuring timely collection and entry of referral data into CPR+.
- Verify insurance coverage, obtain prior authorizations, and manage benefit checks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources and outside agencies to facilitate seamless patient transitions.
- Coordinate start of care with referral sources, patients, pharmacy, nursing, and delivery teams.
- Manage documentation such as Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMNs), Statements of Medical Necessity (SMNs), and Detailed Written Orders (DWOs).
- Participate in team meetings and quality improvement activities.
- Negotiate payment rates with insurance agencies and maintain knowledge of revenue and reimbursement processes.
- Act as an educational resource regarding product lines and payer coverage.
- Maintain current knowledge of local insurance providers, indigent care sources, and reimbursement policies.
- Perform data entry with high accuracy, ensuring timely submission of paperwork.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to patient admission and intake processes.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in infusion intake or related healthcare roles.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and prior authorizations.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in computer skills, including typing and data entry.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Preferred: Experience in home infusion intake, knowledge of government and commercial insurance payor coverage.
