Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Medical Surgical Nurse at CHI St Vincent, you’ll excel in your nursing career by providing care to patients admitted to our unit. Most of your patients are funneled in from other units providing you with the opportunity to build on your education and experience in specialized service lines such as cardiac, telemetry, orthopedics, neurology, critical care, surgical services, and emergency.

- Deliver the best possible care to your set of assigned patients
- Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation
- Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging
- Registered Nurse License, in good standing (State of Arkansas, or compact state, required prior to hire)
- 1 year of acute care experience is required (new graduates or nurses who have never worked in an acute care setting are hired through our residency training program)
- Previous med surg experience is preferred, but not required
- BLS through the American Heart Association is required
- Additional certifications (like ACLS or PALS) may be required depending on the unit
