Description
This lead position is within Sargent & Lundy's Consulting Group and will be responsible for the following:
- Manage different consulting engagements related to power system studies for transmission interconnection projects, including external coordination with clients and internal coordination
- Provide guidance and oversight to junior engineers performing power system modeling and analysis
- Participate in business development including identification of new work, preparation of proposals, provide input project scope, approach, schedule, and budget
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry technology and applications of new technologies
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and sufficient industry experience is considered in lieu of an advanced degree
- A minimum of 12 years relevant engineering experience with at least 5 years of experience in leading a team of power systems engineers
- Experience in load flow and contingency analysis to identify transmission thermal and voltage constraints and to identify transfer capability limits
- Experience using transmission planning software for load flow modeling, contingency analysis, and stability analysis using PSS/E, PSLF, TARA
Valued but not required skills and experience:
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred
- Experience in stability analysis to identify critical clearing times, identify voltage constraints and analyze power system damping
- Experience in electromagnetic transient analysis using PSCAD
- Experience in short circuit analysis and using software programs CAPE or ASPEN
- Knowledge of power regions and ISOs/RTOs, such as: PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, ISO-NE
- Experience in Python, Java Script, or other scripting languages
