Be a part of the pre-opening team for the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel!
Opening Fall 2025, the Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel will also have over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.
The Ibis Bartender will be responsible for providing efficient friendly customer service at all times and to maintain a clean, professional top-quality bar.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- To follow, enforce, comply, and adhere to all Omni rules, policies, procedures, standards and recipes at all times.
- To properly set-up and maintain a clean efficient bar throughout the shift.
- Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.
- Take orders and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections, and daily specials.
- Mix drinks for servers according to standard recipes.
- Familiarity with the wine list and the stemware and appropriate garnishes used.
- Follow procedures as outlined in employee manual and bartender’s manual. Jigger pour, making drinks for servers only when rung in on Micros.
- Ensure the consistency in the presentation and recipes of all cocktails.
- Be familiar with and enforce all policies related to liquor liability laws.
- Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order, and adhere to cash handling standards.
- Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants.
- Present accurate check to guest and process payment.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
- Polish and clean the water glasses in his/her assigned station before opening hours.
- Station set-up and breakdown/side-work.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1-year bartending experience.
- Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines.
- Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
- Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.
- Position requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms.
- Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments.
