What You'll Be Doing
The Electrician will perform complex electrical activities including troubleshooting, repairing, maintenance and installation of electrical systems, equipment and components within locations in the healthcare system.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Inspect and operate equipment such as air conditioners, heat pumps, refrigerators, freezers, water coolers, etc. for proper functioning
- Ensure operation of machinery, electrical, and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production equipment, motors, conveyor systems, support equipment by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions
- Locate sources of problems by observing electrical & mechanical devices in operation. Including listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Remove defective motors and other parts by dismantling assemblies using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools
- Use experience to identify the root cause that caused the defect and or breakdown/s
- Control downtime by informing staff of routine preventive maintenance techniques, including monitoring compliance
- Perform snow removal detail
- Collaboratively work with others, as well as perform work independently with little direction
- Interact with clients to ensure satisfaction and to request referrals
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 2-4 years in trade, hospital environment preferred
- Active and valid NJ driver's license
- The following NJ Licenses are highly desirable
- NJ Electrical contractor license
- NJ Plumbing license
- NJ Boiler License
- NJ Refrigeration License
- Willingness to travel to all CarePoint facilities in Bayonne, Hoboken, Jersey City, including associated Physician offices
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Understand and follow oral and written directions
- Excellent customer service skills
