Overview
We are seeking a Medical Surgical LPN, sometimes referred to as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays an important role our hospital by providing hands-on care to patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic or acute illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Working alongside RNs, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide patient care our hospital's medical-surgical (Med-Surge) unit, LPNs focus on assisting with patient care and ensuring comfort and safety.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation
- Help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Assist with turning, positioning, and ambulating patients to prevent bedsores and promote recovery
- Observe patients for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to an RN or physician
- Monitor patients for changes in condition (e.g., pain levels, skin color, or behavior)
- Recognize early warning signs of complications and report them to an RN or physician
- Prepare patients for tests or procedures by ensuring they understand the process and are physically ready
- Teach patients and families about basic post-discharge care, such as wound care, medication schedules, and managing chronic conditions
- Work under the supervision of RNs and report directly to them regarding patient care issues
Qualifications

- Current and valid state license
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
- IV certification upon hire (state specific)
