Job Summary and Responsibilities
Performs breast ultrasound procedures. Assists with evaluations of equipment and procedures. Liaison for ultrasound interdepartmental procedures. Assumes role of Lead as required.
- Daily Operations and Procedures
- Performs exams based on anatomy and patient habitus per exam protocol
- Demonstrates competency in performing procedures as reflected in the exam protocol as well as complies with performance of two patient identifiers and gel in/gel out. Always produces high quality imaging, provides legible,
- accurate and complete documentation to physician.
- Performs exams proficiently.
- Maintains the integrity of a sterile field. Protects patients with open/seeping skin by providing a barrier between the US probe and the exposed wound.
- Demonstrates proficiency in locating patient information in Empower, RCO, RADNET, Dominator as needed in the performance/dictation of exam.
Minimum
High School Diploma/GED
RTBS (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, Breast) or RDMSBR (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) and MAMMRAD:AZ (Certified Mammography Rad Tech in AZ)
Completion of ARDMS or ARRT approved ultrasound training program or hospitalbased ultrasound training
program
BLS-CPR
Preferred
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Cerner experience.
Associate degree or BS degree
ARDMS BR - Breast Certified
Completion of ARDMS or ARRT approved ultrasound program.
