Frequently asked questions

At Services For The Underserved, the Clinical Coordinator spearheads initiatives that blend innovative technology with clinical expertise to improve mental health services in East Harlem, focusing on reducing disparities and ensuring accessible care tailored to the community's needs.

Effective leadership for a Clinical Coordinator in New York demands strong supervisory skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to foster collaboration while navigating complex clinical and regulatory environments, particularly when supporting vulnerable populations with mental health and substance use disorders.

In NYC, Clinical Coordinators benefit greatly from holding an LMSW or LCSW license, coupled with knowledge of OASAS and OMH regulations, as these credentials ensure compliance and enhance the quality of behavioral health program management.

Daily tasks often include supervising clinical staff, coordinating mental health assessments, managing data integrity within electronic health records, liaising with external providers, and developing training curriculums, all to maintain seamless clinical operations and client care.

Clinical Coordinators in New York City typically earn between $83,000 and $87,000 annually, reflecting the specialized skills required to manage clinical programs addressing mental health and substance use challenges in diverse urban populations.

The New York City market for Clinical Coordinators in mental health is moderately competitive, with demand driven by ongoing public health initiatives. Candidates with supervisory experience and bilingual skills, particularly in English and Spanish, tend to stand out.

Services For The Underserved offers Clinical Coordinators a robust benefits package including comprehensive health coverage, generous paid time off, and professional growth opportunities, fostering a supportive environment aligned with values of respect and continuous quality improvement.

This role actively builds partnerships with community service providers, hospitals, and referral sources to create a network of care that broadens access and enriches support for patients managing mental illness and substance use disorders.

East Harlem is well-served by public transportation, but applicants should plan for peak-hour congestion. Proximity to multiple subway lines can ease daily commutes, making punctuality and reliability manageable despite the city's busy environment.

Beyond clinical coordination, this position emphasizes innovation in technology-driven care, a strong supervisory component, and a commitment to addressing social determinants of health, setting it apart through its integrated approach to community wellness.
