Frequently asked questions

Occupational Therapy Assistants support patient recovery by implementing tailored therapy plans under licensed therapists' supervision. In skilled nursing facilities, they focus on restoring daily living skills, ensuring therapy aligns with clinical protocols, which is vital for the vulnerable populations Reliant Rehabilitation works with.

Completing an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy assistant program is essential. Additionally, staying updated with Oregon's licensure requirements and engaging in continuing education helps maintain clinical skills and compliance, crucial for providing quality care in local healthcare environments.

Career growth often starts with gaining experience in direct patient care, advancing through Reliant Rehabilitation's clinical ladder. Opportunities include leadership roles, specialized therapy certifications, and potentially transitioning into occupational therapy roles, supported by continuing education and mentorship.

Reliant Rehabilitation offers company-sponsored continuing education courses and a tuition loan repayment program, fostering professional development. Their flexible scheduling options also help therapists balance clinical duties with advancing their education and certifications effectively.

Reliant Rehabilitation stands out with comprehensive benefits like competitive pay, a 401(k) match, PTO buy-back, and a maternity support program. Their therapy-led management ensures a supportive work culture focused on growth and quality patient care, uncommon in local rehab providers.

The Dalles has moderate demand for occupational therapy assistants, influenced by its aging population and healthcare facility needs. Reliant Rehabilitation's presence boosts opportunities, but candidates with valid Oregon licenses and flexible schedules tend to stand out amid regional competition.

The Dalles offers a close-knit community with strong patient relationships, but limited local transport options can affect commute times. The area's healthcare facilities often seek therapists adaptable to rural settings, which can be rewarding for those valuing personalized patient care.

Occupational Therapy Assistants in The Dalles typically earn between $50,000 and $60,000 annually, depending on experience and credentials. Reliant Rehabilitation offers competitive pay packages within this range, complemented by benefits, reflecting local market standards for skilled nursing facility roles.

OT Assistants focus on executing treatment plans designed by licensed therapists, supervising rehab techs, and managing patient interactions. Unlike therapists, they emphasize hands-on care delivery and documentation, ensuring therapy effectiveness within Reliant Rehabilitation’s structured protocols.

Therapist-led management at Reliant means decisions consider clinical insights, promoting a supportive atmosphere for OT Assistants. This leadership style encourages professional growth, practical training, and adherence to high-quality care standards, enhancing job satisfaction and patient outcomes.
