Frequently asked questions

Key skills include preventive maintenance on bowling equipment, troubleshooting pinspotters, and understanding basic electrical repairs. In Milwaukee’s entertainment centers, adaptability and safety awareness aligned with OSHA standards are critical to keep operations smooth and equipment reliable.

Assistant mechanics typically focus on routine upkeep and minor repairs while learning advanced diagnostics. Unlike full mechanics who handle complex overhauls, assistants support daily maintenance, which is crucial in dynamic settings like bowling centers where equipment uptime is vital.

While a high school diploma suffices for entry, completing OSHA safety training and specialized programs like Lucky Strike’s assistant mechanic training enhances employability. Local vocational schools may offer mechanical and electrical courses tailored to Milwaukee’s industry needs.

Night shifts demand heightened alertness to swiftly address equipment failures without disrupting customer experience. Limited on-site supervision can require independent problem-solving skills, especially in maintaining bowling lane machinery and arcade equipment during peak weekend hours.

Milwaukee’s market for assistant mechanics in entertainment venues is moderately competitive, blending demand from automotive and leisure sectors. Candidates with mechanical and electrical experience tend to stand out due to the city’s diverse industrial landscape requiring versatile skills.

Part-time assistant mechanics in Milwaukee generally earn between $14 and $18 per hour, depending on experience and shift timing. Employers like Bowlero offer additional perks such as discounts and free activities that supplement direct compensation.

Bowlero invests in comprehensive training programs that guide assistants to full mechanic roles. They emphasize hands-on experience, safety compliance, and teamwork, providing a pathway for advancement in a fun, fast-paced environment with opportunities across multiple locations.

Yes, assistant mechanics must adhere strictly to OSHA guidelines and Bowlero’s internal safety policies. This includes proper handling of electrical equipment, wearing protective gear, and immediate reporting of hazards to maintain a secure environment for both staff and guests.

New assistants will focus on routine inspections, minor repairs of bowling machinery, and maintaining cleanliness around equipment. They’ll also assist leadership teams and gradually learn to diagnose common malfunctions to ensure smooth daily operations.

Apprenticeships for assistant mechanics in Milwaukee are available but can be competitive due to local manufacturing and entertainment sectors. Candidates with prior mechanical experience or eagerness to learn often see faster hiring, especially with companies like Bowlero actively recruiting part-time evening staff.
