Job Summary
This leader has operational accountability and oversight, and manages the daily activities of the department or area. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring team work tasks, projects, and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of departmental and organizational goals. Typically manages daily operations of five or more complex specialties, with multiple practice sites in multiple locations and a minimum of 10 providers.
Required Qualifications
- Require bachelor’s degree in health care, business, finance or related field. Relevant work experience in health care or business administration in a leadership role may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required degree.- Require minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in health care management or clinical practice management of 10 or more providers, or multiple sites including management responsibility for all operational areas including finance; or five (5) years of health care management experience in a hospital-based setting of 5 or more providers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a multidisciplinary team, and demonstrated ability to analyze problems and consistently follow through to solution.- Prefer proven financial acumen, including ability to manage budget processes with minimal supervision, ability to proactively explain budget and volume variances, and an understanding of common financial terms.- Prefer experience in human resources and compliance with regulatory bodies.- Prefer excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.- Prefer strong problem-solving skills with ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.- Prefer knowledge of third-party payors.- Prefer proficiency in computer software programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, practice management software, Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Outlook.- Prefer American College of Medical Practice Executives certification (ACMPE) or Certified Physician Practice Manager Certification (CPPM).
