Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Security Officer, you will monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors.
Every day you will monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises. Your security detail could include guarding facility and unit access points, monitoring surveillance cameras, testing new security technology, and protecting all employees/visitors against acts of violence should they arise.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need the ability to remain calm and take action based on the situation, known facts, and understand the position limitations. You are also expected to respond to emergency codes in a timely manner. Previous experience in security/patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner. Calls may include incidents such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, or to emergency codes, and requests for opening doors. Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed; and report unsafe acts or conditions.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including of radios and hospital codes.
- Reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigate security breaches, conducts investigations, and writes incident reports. Ensures that all activities are logged. That incident reports are accurately completed that they are clear, concise, legible and submitted in a timely manner.
- Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing hospital campus to ensure that dispatches are to right location. Keeping the organization’s mission, vision and values at the forefront of all decision making and action.

Required
- High School Graduate General Studies and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service; or One (1) year experience as a Security Office, upon hire or
- High School GED General Studies and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting, Law enforcement or military service; or One (1) year experience as a Security Office, upon hire
- Commisoned Security Officer: CA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
- Driver's License: CA, within 30 Days
