Position Summary
The Ice Arena Representative acts as the primary provider of direct service to guests as they are entering, participating and leaving Coral Ridge Ice Arena. They are responsible for providing guest service, admission transactions, and a safe & clean environment, ensuring all service needs are met. Individuals work in various positions as needed including, but not limited to, cashier, skate rental, housekeeping, and guest service.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $11 to $12.

About the Venue
The BodyArmor Ice Rink is a community ice rink, offering a variety of skating classes and camps, and is additionally the home of the Hawkeye Skating Club, ICH Youth Hockey, University of Iowa Men’s and Women’s Club Hockey teams and the practice facility for the ECHL Iowa Heartlanders. The related facility, Xtream Arena and Greenstate Family Fieldhouse is home to the University of Iowa Women’s Volleyball team and the ECHL Iowa Heartlanders. The venues are owned by the community development corporation ArenaCo and managed by OVG.
Responsibilities
- Greet and explain services available to guests; assist guests with skate rental and questions
- Accept payment for guest services responsibly and accurately
- Follow all Company policy / procedures related to cash management and closing register procedures
- Follow Company procedures for providing skates / equipment to guests and provide any important related details to guests
- Provide directional assistance to guests throughout the facility
- Monitor guests and ensure guests maintain a safe environment
- Report an unsafe conditions or other escalated guest concerns to management immediately
- Ensure guests are operating in accordance with Oak View Group, Ice Arena and local policies / procedures
- Provide exceptional services during client events as directed such as parties, camps, etc.
- Represent the company in cases of emergency as required to assist guests with exiting the facility
- Responsible for cleaning and removal of waste; ensure facility is clean and sanitized
- Maintain professional interpersonal relations with all external guests, co-workers and management
- Employee works on-site, must maintain excellent attendance, and must follow Spectra policies / procedures on related to health and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed
- Employee is fully trained on equipment such as Zamboni and Skate Sharpener Machine
- Responsible for training Ice Arena Representative 1 employees on the Zamboni, Compressor Room and Skate Sharpener Machine
- Reports any unsafe conditions regarding but not limited to the Zamboni, Compressor Room operations and Skate Sharpener equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One or more years’ experience in guest service and cash handling position
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely in the English language
- Ability to work a varied schedule based on provided availability that may include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Completed operations training on Zamboni, Compressor Room and Skate Sharpening equipment through the Coral Ridge Ice Arena or one or more years’ of equivalent experience
