Franciscan Medical Group, as part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently seeking a full-time Clinic Medical Assistant, Lead for the Franciscan Cardiovascular Consultants Clinic in Silverdale, WA. Seeking motivated individual to join our patient centered team. This individual will support a fast-paced Center for Cardiovascular Health Team. About Your Position:
As a Medical Assistant, you will work as a member of a care team to provide care and support to patients under the direction of a physician or mid-level provider.
LEAD: Act as a lead in the department; a resource for staff members while working closely with Supervisor/Manager to continually update and improve functions and help with special projects; may assign work duties to staff as approved by the supervisor, and assist in administering policies and procedures; may assist with training and evaluating new and existing employees.
Your daily responsibilities will include the following types of things:
- Greeting and preparing patients for their visit with the provider by obtaining and recording their vital signs and other information such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem
- Assisting with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures such as venous and capillary invasive procedures for blood draws, intradermal (including skin tests), subcutaneous and intramuscular injections
- Administering medications and vaccinations
- Managing patient flow, ensuring enough time for patient and family education
- Preparing and sterilizing instruments and maintaining equipment and patient care areas clean and orderly
- Scheduling patient appointments and other administrative duties as needed
- Actively participating in continuing education, required meetings and committees as requested
- May perform medical scribe duties under the direct supervision and review of the attending provider and in compliance with the FMG Medical Scribe Program Policy.
- LEAD: Act as a resource for staff members, troubleshoot most difficult problems within the department and find appropriate solutions.
- LEAD: Work closely with Supervisor/Manager to continually update and improve functions. Assist in planning and implementing new procedures.
- LEAD: Transmit work instructions from the Supervisor/Manager to staff, assign work duties to the staff as approved by the Supervisor providing a smooth flow of work through the department; notify the Supervisor/Manager as needed.
- LEAD: Assist with interviews, orientations, training, and evaluating new and existing employees within the department, following appropriate policies and procedures. Provide feedback to the Supervisor, as appropriate.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Washington State Certification as a Medical Assistant-Certified.
- In the last three- (3) years, one (1) year experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a clinic or acute care setting preferred
LEAD: Relevant experience in a senior role/lead experience required or equivalent experience required
Licensure/Certifications:
- Washington State Certification as a Medical Assistant-Certified.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
