Frequently asked questions

Infusion Registered Nurses in Lenexa, KS, like those at Adoration Home Health & Hospice, spend most of their shifts traveling to patient homes, managing complex therapies such as immunoglobulin and IV antibiotics. Unlike hospital settings, they provide 1:1 care outside clinical environments, requiring strong independence and adaptability.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of RN experience, preferably with infusion or home health exposure. Proficiency in IV therapy, current CPR certification, and a valid nursing license for Kansas are essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team enhance success.

While there’s no mandatory infusion nurse certification in Lenexa, specialized credentials like the Infusion Nurse Certification (CRNI) boost employability. Local employers may prefer nurses familiar with CDC guidelines and state regulations to ensure high-quality outpatient infusion care.

Infusion RNs in Lenexa typically earn between $32 and $42 per hour, with additional mileage reimbursement for travel to patient homes. Adoration Home Health & Hospice offers pay starting from leaving the nurse’s home until return, reflecting the door-to-door nature of this role.

Lenexa’s healthcare sector shows growing demand for skilled infusion RNs due to increasing outpatient therapy needs. However, competition remains moderate, with employers valuing nurses who bring infusion experience combined with home health flexibility and strong patient education skills.

Adoration Home Health & Hospice offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and tuition reimbursement. Their culture emphasizes ethical care and work-life balance, which is attractive for infusion nurses seeking a supportive home health environment in Lenexa.

This role uniquely compensates nurses from door to door, including mileage, acknowledging travel as part of work. Nurses handle complex infusions like biologics and inotropes at patients’ homes, supported by a multidisciplinary team, fostering a blend of clinical autonomy and comprehensive patient care.

Infusion RNs coordinate closely with pharmacy staff, ordering providers, and sales partners to tailor therapy goals. This collaboration ensures patient safety and therapy effectiveness within home settings, emphasizing communication skills and adherence to professional nursing standards.

Nurses endure a mix of physical tasks including frequent walking, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds. The job also involves prolonged sitting and typing for documentation, plus regular driving across Lenexa for patient visits, requiring stamina and ergonomic awareness.

Home infusion nurses educate patients and caregivers on medication administration, side effect monitoring, and vascular device care. This hands-on teaching is vital in outpatient settings to minimize complications and empower patients managing complex therapies at home.
