Crotched Mountain School (CMS), a program of Seven Hills New Hampshire, hosts innovative special education, recreation, arts, music, and vocational programming for students, aged 5-21, who are on the autism spectrum, and/or have disabilities and other challenges that are better supported in an alternative, least-restrictive environment to their local public school system. Students have the option to live year-round in the appointed residences on the sprawling campus located in Greenfield, New Hampshire. Role Overview: As a Paraeducator, you'll support students with disabilities in a structured environment, assisting with behavior management and academic goals.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Ensure a safe and consistent environment for students
- Enhance instructional strategies with specialized skills
- Support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and behavior plans
- Assist educators in devising strategies to reinforce skills and positive behaviors
- Participate in planned activities with students, both on and off campus
- May include personal care such as toileting, showering, dressing, feeding, etc.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Accompany and assist children throughout daily activities
- Monitor and collect data on student progress
- Support students across various school settings
- Participate in training and meetings
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm
Qualifications
- Must be 21 or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors/Associates Degree in a related field preferred but not required
- Experience with individuals with disabilities (preferred)
- Physical requirements include (but not limited to) bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting/standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must meet CCLU regulatory requirements for working with children in residential care which will be discussed during intro call
