Responsibilities
Work under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Pharmacy Technician Lead to support outpatient pharmacy operations.
Receive prescription requests and accurately enter them into the computer database.
Prepare medications for dispensing following pharmacy protocols.
Assist customers and patients at the cash register, providing friendly and efficient service.
Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve billing and coverage issues.
Communicate with referring physicians’ offices to clarify prescription details or resolve questions.
Maintain accurate inventory levels and manage stock accordingly.
Profile prescriptions to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Other education required to obtain and/or maintain Pharmacy Technician licensure may be necessary.
Experience:
- Prior pharmacy technician or clerk experience, or pharmacy technician program current student or program graduate, preferred.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions required.
Licensure
- Current Pharmacy Technician license required prior to date of hire and maintained thereafter.
Pay Range
